Ear candling or ear coning is a procedure of cleaning ears with earwax and toxins. This procedure is also known as cloning. This method of cleaning ears has been used in some ancient times, but it is still being used in some cultures. In some cultures, ear candling is practiced for peace seeking purposes. It is believed in some cultures that ear candling can clear the mind and senses. For ear candling, a hollow candle is used, which is placed in the ear. One end of that hollow candle is lighted, while the other end is placed in the ear canal. This practice takes about 45 minutes, during which, one or two candles are burned for each ear. This unusual experience is normally described as relaxing and pleasant. Despite the fact, that ear candling has many advantages, but medical researchers have reported that ear candling is dangerous and ineffective. There is a high risk in this practice, because it can burn or damage the ear from hot wax or ash, when candles without filters are used.
There are various processes of ear candling. With the help of these processes, a little vacuum is created that draws the wax out of the ear. Today, ear candling is still experienced in some countries, such as South America etc. Hollow candles are the most used candles for ear cleansing, all around the world. Ear candles are used to clean the wax that is in the ear. These candles will provide you a good relaxing and comfortable feeling that the other ear candles cannot offer.
