The word "advent" is derived from the Latin word ‘Adventus’, meaning "coming" or "arrival". This Latin word is exact equal to Greek word “parousia”, which is commonly referred to Second Coming. It is a holy season for Christians. Advent is the period of preparation for the celebration of nativity of Christ. It is also known as Christmas season. Advent candles are especially made for the event of Christmas. Specific candles are used with a wide range of design and particular colors. The main color of Advent candles is purple and it is the most used color in Advent colors, because it is considered as a royalty color and the color of advent. Sky blue color is used to get the affect night sky and it is used in so many churches these days. Red and green are the two colors that are used in the Advent candles and these are used at the time of Christmas.
